Modern Art Gallery

Last week I spent time at The Modern Art Gallery & The Dean Gallery in Edinburgh, [a bit sad, i know]. I was a bit bummed that it was rainy...when will summer start, and when will i be able to wear all my favourite shorts!?
Anyway, I absolutely loved the huge neon lettering that I saw and photographed outside them both[it was kind of hard to miss them...] :

I want some in my garden! I love snappy slogans like that... I have a t-shirt that says 'Moss is the Boss' on it which I think is pretty cool - but it's waaay too small for me - haha!

Sorry for the short post, i'll post more about fashion over the weekend - i promise! x

Marilyn Monroe...

I think most of us have our own personal idols that we adore, and want to - in one way or another - be like. Who are your idols or fashion icons?
It has to be said, there are many people that I myself regard as an idol, including Lady GaGa(of course) and many others, but at the moment I am most fascinated by Marilyn Monroe(Partly because I recently read a book about her).

Of course, she was the stunningly beautiful, original blonde bombshell, who became one of the most famous women in the world, but what I admire the most about her was the fact that she came from such humble, underprivileged beginnings. I believe she suffered quite a lot of hardship throughout her childhood, moving from foster home to foster home...and even still, she single-handedly made a name for herself, and became hugely successful - I really admire her for this, and I guess part of me is rather envious of it!

Something else that gave me a lot of respect for Marilyn is how incredibly brave she was to study at the Actors Studio in NY, in an attempt to break free from her dumb-blonde type-casting, as she wanted to be taken seriously as an actress. I think that must have taken so much courage, and shows that she was actually an intelligent lady.
I too would love to have the guts to do something like that in my lifetime!

Thankyou for reading my huge rant, I'd better stop now before I write a novel... sorry it's so boring- but thankyou for reading<3

Who needs manicures?...

...when you can do nail art yourself?
Ok, well I lied... I would LOVE my nails done by Wah Nails (click here) - their designs are so crazy and unique! *sigh*, maybe one day?

But for now I shall have to settle for painting my own nails. For me, having my nails done is the same as wearing make up - I feel so naked without it! I also feel that it's a way of being creative, colourful and different with your look; without being too out there and still being subtle with it. (Although some of my experiments have been a bit disasterous....yellow nails were not a good look for me!)
How do you like your nails? Here's some of mine from over the past month[sadly none of them are really that interesting though]:

New Jeans!

There's nothing like slipping on (or in my case struggling into :\) a new pair of skinny jeans... especially when they're coral coloured, high-waisted, and you didn't have to pay full price for them- woo!
I don't even know if they are on trend...but i'll be wearing them everywhere anyway :)
Here's my outfit today:

[Jeans- Topshop; Shoes & Top- H&M]
I bought the shoes for dressing up as Lady GaGa at my friends birthday, but i am so in love with them! (not sure if i'll wear them today though, they're not all that comfy.)
Rightyho i'm off to the cinema now. thankyou for reading! x
